Quaker Steak & lube
Sandusky, oh
For a filling sit down meal, rather lunch or dinner, look no further than the massive Quaker Steak & Lube attached to the Castaway Bay Indoor Waterpark at the entrance to the Cedar Point Causeway.
During the Winter months, sit inside and view the Bay via the large windows that surround the restaurant while watching your favorite sporting event on one of what seems like 100 TV's. However in the summer, feel free to sit out on the large deck that connects to the boat docks and abuts the Bay. There is an outdoor bar as well and the location makes it a perfect spot from which to view the Cedar Point fireworks!

If you've never experienced Quaker Steak, they are mainly known for their Wings and seemingly never ending list of available sauces. We’ve dined here before so the deal in returning was that we would order something different this go round & see what else we could find!
Charisse had the “Grilled Chicken Salad” tossed in Spicy Garlic sauce, not being a fan
of too much “Heat”, she was delighted that it provided a little kick that equated to more flavor than spice (being pregnant & eating spicy food is a recipe for disaster). Mj says the “Bang Bang Shrimp” is now his favorite thing to order and it's so filling he says you could just order the appetizer version, add fries and you'll be more than satisfied!
I chose the “Skillet Mac & Cheese”, loaded with pulled pork, macaroni & cheese and topped with enough cheese to bankrupt Wisconsin, I attempted to eat it slow for two reasons, First, It was good, like really good & I wanted it to last, Second, I got full quick, but had to finish it, call it gluttony, I call it “No Food Left Behind”. So a moment of honesty here, I order this all the time & since the deal was to try something new, I ordered a side of wings. They were good & the mild sauce was just my level of heat, but honestly, the "Skillet Mac" was more than enough.
The kids love the kids meals and the portions are enough for the kids under 10. Munchie had the Mac & Cheese and Chips had the "Jr. Quaker Burger", both included either Fries, Chips or Tangerine slices.
